FLY TIPPING CONDEMNED IN UDNY STATION – Evening Express

A community has hit out at inconsiderate flytippers who have blocked off a route with dumped waste.

Piles of turf were dumped on an off-road track near Udny Station in Aberdeenshire.

Ward councillor Paul Johnston said: “You can always find a cheap garden clearance company because they’re not paying to get rid of the rubbish, they’re just dumping it. Reputable local companies do not dump garden waste but compost it. ”

“I’m disappointed that somebody has done that. Local people should ask where their garden clearance material is going . ”

Willie Grant, chairman of the area’s community council, was told by an eyewitness a truck had been seen dumping turf in the road and then disappearing. He added: “I reckon it’s about eight to 10 tonnes. It’s completely thoughtless.”
