FormUtd2013-09-22The absence through injury of centre half McKeown (fractured hand) and central midfielder Hamill (ankle ligament damage) struck right at the spine of the Formartine team’s structure – this was almost akin to facing local rivals Turra, on their own territory with two missing vertebrae.

Inevitably this aftermath of  victory at Cove ten days before had its effect on performance albeit in ways that few would have anticipated.  The damage seemed more to confidence than to capacity contributing to a lopsided performance where a rather aimless, slightly feckless first half display where they seemed devoid of inspiration gave way to a dramatically improved second half where they rattled in four goals that included a Cammy Keith hat trick.
